Oneplus Nord CE 2 5G, the latest oneplus’ budget “nord phone was officially launched in India. This is a follow-up until Nord CE last year and functions as a version of “Lite” from Nord which is slightly stronger 2. The price of Nord CE 2 5G in India starts at RS 23,999 (6GB / 128GB). Although it seems to be a good upgrade above Nord CE, with faster charging and support for other 5G radios (Nord CE strongly supports one band 5G), it’s also a very familiar cellphone.
Nord CE 2 5G shared almost every hardware specification with Oppo Reno 7 5G. The design and dimensions are also all and the dimensions are also setbacks to Reno 7, which was launched only last week in India, making new products oneplus confusing. But it’s cheaper, so it’s so. Reno 7 prices in India are set at RS 28.999 (8GB / 256GB). Nord CE original registered for RS 22,999 (6GB / 128GB) in OnePlus Store at the time of writing. Not immediately clear whether Oneplus will delete it in the end (until the last stock).
All three cellphones have more or less dimensions and the same form factors. They are slim and light, with Nord CE 2 5G having a heft and the same thickness like Reno 7-173g and 7.8mm. They are all made of plastic. Reno 7 has the best textured matte layer. Nord CE 2 has a shiny back. Breaking with convention, the two versions of Nord CE come without a warning slider, which used to be a staple for all oneplus phones. All three cellphones have headphone jacks.
Oneplus for some curious reason does not place a micro-elementary card slot in the original Nord CE. Nord CE 2 has one. Likewise Reno 7, in the location exactly the same. In fact, the layout of the button, cut-out speakers, everything is the same on both of these phones.
All three cellphones have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that is the same as the speed of refresh 90Hz and hole punch holes. Nord CE 2 and Reno 7 have a slightly superior display statistic, with corning gorilla glass 5 protection and HDR10 + playback support.
Under the hood, both Reno 7 and Nord CE 2 get dimensity mediatek 900 chips which are paired up to 8gram and up to 128GB UFS2.2 storage. Nord CE comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chip paired up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB UFS2.1 storage. A bit disappointing to see the new Nord CE 2 shipping oneplus with Android 11 (Oxygenos 11.3), like its predecessor almost a year later. Reno 7 runs Coloros 12 based on Android 11.
All three cellphones have the same rear camera – the main 64MP, 8MP ultrawide-angle, and a 2MP macro camera. Nord CE 2 has a 16MP front camera like Nord CE. Reno 7 has a 32MP selfie shooter.
Nord CE supports only one 5G band. Nord CE 2 supports 8. Reno 7 arranges Roost here with the support of the band 13g.
All three phones pack 4500mAh batteries. Nord CE comes with 30W “warp fees”. Nord CE 2 has 65W fast charging “supervooc”, just like Oppo Reno 7.
