WhatsApp is testing new features that are useful on iOS that display profile images in system notifications when users receive new messages from chat and groups.
It was first seen by the Wabetainfo application specialist, the first new feature for the platform in 2022 used APIs on iOS 15 to add WhatsApp profile images to notifications on the top screen banner and in the notification center when the user receives a message.
WhatsApp on Android has been able to display profile images in system notifications for some time, so this change brings parity to the application on both platforms.
If you don’t see a profile picture in your notification, it’s because whatsapp first time makes changes to beta testers so that they can report bugs, before the features are launched into millions of users on iOS devices worldwide.
The last update to WhatsApp comes in December, and is a change in privacy to prevent people from the messaging platform of watching the user’s status “last looks” that they have never collected.
