It was really just a matter of time before the services and clubhouse features began to try to monetize the only audio social media hype. While the clubhouse itself seems to be experimenting with the payment system, Twitter pushes forward with what will be known as the ticket room, changing the newborn Twitter feature into something like a concert or VIP meeting and greeting where users need to pay for tickets to enter. Shoes as might be heard for the host, the wound they received might not be very encouraging.
According to Twitter, it will only take 20% of ticket sales for himself, leaving the rest for the host. However, it only applies after Apple or Google has taken their own pieces. That means a 30% discount from the total and then the 80% discount will be given to the user. For $ 10 tickets, it means only $ 5.6 will actually go to the host.
The payment system will be handled by Stripe and Twitter told the threshold that it will become a bill for a stripe transaction fee. Those who will host such events, however, need to have a stripe account too. During the test period, only users in the US can host the paid event but anyone from all over the world will be able to pay for tickets and join.
This is only the latest in what seems to be a quick iteration of Twitter for spaces, which was only launched a few weeks ago. It has added the ability to schedule events and want to add a room hosted together too. This, in turn, is only the latest in Twitter’s efforts to monetize networks outside ordinary ads.
Part of the plan includes Super Follow, something like Patreon or Onlyfans where customers can pay exclusive content. Maybe the most interesting, however, will be blue twitter, among others, maybe letting people cancel the tweet. This is not a tweet editing feature that shouted for years but it seems Twitter wants to make users pay the feature in the end.
