The official Y70 Legion is the first Lenovo smartphone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Flagship chipset is part of the gaming legion family but comes with an easier aesthetics without skimping on top performance.
The screen is 6.67 “OLED with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and up to 1500 Hz Touch Sampling Rate. There is a punch hole in the middle for a selfie camera and while Lenovo does not say anything about the position of the fingerprint scanner, we can consider it embedded in the power key.
Removing the sensor from the bottom of the screen allows Lenovo to make Y70 very thin – only 7.99 mm on the base. The company managed to cram “up to 10 layers of” cooler solutions, including some of the largest graphite and VC sheets on the market – 5,047 square mm, which is 0.55 mm thick by itself.
Snapdragon 8+ gene 1 chipset is a natural increase in non-plus variants in the Gaming Y90 legion. This is combined with storage of UFS 3.1 and RAM LPDDR5 and Lenovo offers Y70 in three combinations – 8/128 GB, 12/256 GB, and 16/512 GB.
The camera on the back of this phone is also impressive-the main is 50 MP with a 1/1/1.55 ”sensor, secondary is an ultra-wide angle of 13 MP with a 120 degree FOV and there is also a 2 MP 2 MP 2 MP depth sensor. Selfie cameras are registered as 16 MP.
The Y70 Legion battery is 5,100 mAh and supports 68W fast charging. Lenovo also introduces some smart features that monitor cell life and charging patterns to protect batteries for a longer time. The software is Zui 14 and we can only expect to have Android 12 underneath – Lenovo remains silent in the details.
Legion Y70 is part of the game family means getting some cool accessories too – Lenovo introduces protective casings with cooling capabilities, air conditioners similar to Aeroactive Asus products, and triggers of shoulders that can be attached.
Lenovo Legion Y70 is ready for pre -order on the company’s website in China in three colors – black, white, and red, but the last is only available with the most expensive memory options. Prices start from CNY3,299, which is around $ 485. This phone is most likely to remain exclusive to China but we can expect a surprise from Lenovo.
