Gogoro can be said to be the most competitive territory to date, bringing a battery system that can be exchanged to China because it is planning a large exchange network for attraction packages. Gogoro will partner with Yadea and DCJ Chinese scooter companies, which will develop various two-wheeled vehicles that get their strength from the battery moved.

The battery is the middle part of what is called the Gogoro network company. Instead of scooters – the driver connects their vehicle to refill, they can draw two battery blocks from behind. They put into the charging station, and two full-filled new versions were released to get a rider back on the road.

Gogoro’s work has increased the accessibility of the swap location, called Gostations. At present, there are 2,100 which supports an average of 270,000 battery swaps every day, the company said, at the location including Taiwan. Earlier this year, Gogoro signed a partnership with the Motocorp hero to launch a network in India.

For Chinese expansion, Gogoro did not target small. DCJ has become a number one two-wheeled gas scooter manufacturer in China for 18 years, with more than 100 models offered and more than 15,000 retail outlets in this country. Yadeo, meanwhile, is the number one electric two-wheelmaker globally, and sells almost 11 m vehicles like that in 2020.

The partnership comes when China is ready to retire a large number of old bicycles, more polluting. New regulations will mean around 270 million withdrawn from services in 2025, for quality and safety requirements. In some Chinese cities, Gogoro shows, new rules around electricity infrastructure are also regulated to promote the transition to EV.

There will be a new operating company in China that deploys and manages the infrastructure to exchange Gogoro batteries. It is expected to be launched this year, although only in one city; This will develop in 2022 to another location.

At this point, it is unclear what the two-wheel design will be visible, and what features they might include. Gogoro initially began by developing its own scooter, as proof of the concept for battery exchange technology. Goscooter has been expanded to a variety of models at different price points, although Gogoro also partnered with other manufacturers – including Yamaha, Aeon Motors, Emoving, PGO, and Erelade – for third-party models that support batteries.

Gogoro’s attitude is always that it is not so many scooter companies or even transportation companies, but in reality energy companies. Launched a decade ago, in addition to the Gogoro network, Gogoro has also developed an e-bike motor and a new battery system. It is currently used in its own model, the model is quite expensive, but Gogoro said it aims to expand availability by partnering with other bicycle makers with technology.
