You might think running a great VPN is enough to keep the company busy, but CyberGhost-based Romania clearly has other ideas: it is expanded to be a completely new market with the release of the CyberGhost Security Suite for Windows, called the company ‘in one privacy solution and security. “
This suite took VPN Cyberghost which was very good as a starting point, then added three new security tools. Antegirus Intego and Avira-Powered provides real-time protection from malware, plus security updates that tell you to applications that are outdated, and the privacy keeper makes it easy to lock the mass of Windows privacy settings.
Confused, although not officially put in the Cyberghost Security Suite, buying a package also gets the CyberGhost password manager to produce, save, and synchronize your password. And all CyberGhost customers get access to the Guard ID service, a free tool that raises a warning if your email address appears in a data violation.

All of these extra security power is available as an add-on to VPN, in a plan called ‘VPN + Security Bundle.’ Prices look fair at $ 17.99 billed every month, only $ 5 is more than the price of only VPN. Choose the annual plan, and the total price fell to $ 5.89 for a VPN bundle and security, compared to $ 3.99 for VPN only. Move to a three-year plan worth $ 2.25 for VPN, $ 3.25 when you add a security bundle, so you get an antivirus, password manager and all the others are only $ 1 a month.
Keep in mind that the CyberGhost plan includes up to seven devices, so that $ 1 can make you antivirus for, say, up to seven Windows laptops. Chances are you will use some of your device allowances solely for VPN – some cellphones possible, smart TV, tablets, leaving only three free slots for security suite – but it’s still cheap.
Lack of platform coverage is a problem. Avira, Bitdefender, Norton and others all have Windows Security Suites that include VPN, and can also protect you from malware and other threats on Mac, Android and iOS. If you buy Cyberghost Security Suite that only gives you Windows protection, so you have to buy another suite for your other device, it might not be much.
Is the CyberGhost security suite really worth the cost of improvement, then? We will explore the security suite module to find out more. However, we will not include CyberGhost VPN here: if you want to find out more about it, check our Mandiri VPN Cyberghost review.

Cyberghost has years of experience in building an easy-to-use VPN application, so it’s not surprising that the installation of security suite is fast and easy. We are not disturbed by complicated options, it does not require us to delete other security applications, or even that we reboot: we just run the installer, and finish in a few seconds.
The antivirus module is advertised as ‘supported by Into’, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. Integration experts in producing antivirus for Mac, but the company turned to Avira to provide machines and definitions in its own Windows products. So, installing the CyberGhost Security Suite makes you Intivirus Intego installed in the background, and that, in turn, completes your system with the Avira machine.
Antivirus Whatever you use, it is important that it can protect yourself from attacks, because malware will often try to deactivate security software before infecting your system. To test this, we try to disable the cyberghost antivirus by deleting the file, killing the process, stop service, delete drivers, and more.
We found a suite having decent self-protection in some areas, but bad at others. In particular, the attacker with admin rights can stop or even delete the main service without difficulty, deactivate some antivirus functions.
