After nearly four years of securing a buy-in community, Google’s plan for the San Jose campus moved forward. Per The San Francisco Chronicle, the city council chose unanimously on Tuesday night to approve the company’s western city center project. After completion, the 80-acre site will be one of Google’s biggest office complexes until now.
In a plan that reminded the alphabet, the offwalk laboratory offer failed in Toronto, the project called for the development of mixtures that would be integrated into the city and some were open to the public. In addition to 7.3 million square feet of office space for around 20,000 employees, Google plans to build 4,000 housing units, 300 hotel rooms and at least 10 parks in addition to retail facilities and performance areas.
To secure the approval for the project, Google agreed to pay for the benefits of the first $ 200 million community, which will see it investing in the anti-displacement program and work readiness. The company also came to the last minute agreement with the San Jose NHL shark to avoid tilting the project in the legal gridlock. Construction on campus is scheduled to start early next year, but can take part that is better than 10 to 30 years to solve it.
The agreement emerged when several company workers returned to his office voluntarily. In early May, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the search giant would adopt a new hybrid work plan that would see most employees working from the office three days a week. As part of the same plan, Pichai said Google would also give workers more freedom to move between offices.
