Battery technology, especially for smartphones, has not evolved as much as that in recent years. That’s why smartphone makers have, instead, try to increase the part that they can have more direct control. Charging technology, different from batteries, has grown with leaps and boundaries and we now see the charging output on it looks almost too dangerous to become true. But that’s what Xiaomi exhibits with its newest hypercharge technology that can fill your cellphone in just 8 or 15 minutes.
Xiaomi, along with people like Oppo, Vivo, and even Oneplus, has pushed the limits of charging smartphones where large companies like Samsung fear to step on. Xiaomi is one if it is not the first to show 100W charging which ultimately makes consumers as charging 120W with Xiaomi MI 10 Ultra. Now try to solve the internet again with two charging claims that might be too hot for comfort.
Xiaomi Hypercharge, at least based on this video, supports fast charging that blows on cables and wireless. Of course, the cable will always be faster than wireless but it can hardly be trusted that the phone can be charged up to 100% in minutes using wireless charging technology.
With 200W charging, the phone in the demonstration changes from 0 to full in a matter of 8 minutes. For 100W wireless charging, it’s almost doubled as expected. It took 15 minutes for the same cost at a cost of 100% using wireless technology.
Of course, Xiaomi noted that the cellphone displayed in this video is Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro modified with a 4,000 mAh battery. Maybe it takes time before technology is actually available to consumers but, given the risks involved, Xiaomi must take all the time he needs to perfect it.
