OnePlus Watch marked the company’s robbery to the SmartWatch room, but it was a wavy trip, for the least. With the hope of attracting more consumers, it looks like a special Harry Potter edition that can be used in the pipe – as seen in new updates.
Launched with the Oneplus 9 series in March, OnePlus Watch is a top-class fitness tracker that looks like a smartwatch. During the keynote, the company announced that the Cobalt Limited edition will be available soon, which will be made of the sturdier cobalt alloy and implement a sapphire glass on the display for a better durability. Now, the third variant has appeared in a rather confusing way.
In an upcoming 2.1.3 update for the Oneplus Health application (the required companion application for SmartWatch) which will reach the Google Play Store in the near future, oxygen updates see strings say “Harry Potter Edition”. After further excavation, they found a reference of a group of watches from the same theme as one with a Hogwarts silhouette, the school symbol, as well as the simpler for Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
Interestingly, the accompanying Changelog did not mention Harry Potter, which meant it could take the time to be officially launched. It is not clear the difference in the hardware of what the new Oneplus watch model will have, if any. Even the Cobalt variant is currently limited to China, so we might have to wait a little longer to understand the availability. Separately, 9To5Google said that Oneplus Watch Harry Potter Edition will be sold only in Asia.
In India, oneplus watches are available at Flipkart and Amazon at a price of Rs 14,999, with SBI credit card users getting an additional RS 2,000 discount.
Running on RTOS, Oneplus watches have an AMOLED display of 1.39 inches, 4GB of internal storage, IP68 rating, more than 110 exercise modes, default GPS, tracking of heartbeat, monitor spo2, and about one week the battery life.
