Oneplus had a fairly busy start until 2022. It had just launched his latest flagship, Oneplus 10 Pro smart phone in China. It will eventually be launched in India, maybe together with other versions like Oneplus 10 and 10r. For now, technology fans in India must be satisfied with the last one hanger of the 9 series, which is Oneplus 9 RT.
This cellphone was launched in China in October 2021 and it only made its way to India now. So, what is 9RT and should you really care? If you are familiar with the ONEPLUS ‘T refresh, this is exactly like that – this is Oneplus 9R (reviews) with new designs and finishes, SOC faster, and a better main camera. It’s a light upgrade, expected because bigger changes will only come with the next generation. What is surprising is that the Oneplus 9 and 9 Pro premiums have not received any refreshment. However, we have played with 9RT for a few days and this is what we think so far.
He is Oneplus 9RT comes in a plain red box with a series of accessories such as cases and chargers. It was very pleasant to see companies that did not blindly follow unpopular trends in the smartphone room and dispose of chargers. Oneplus claims that he has spent a good time perfecting the look and feel of 9RT and it shows. The curved metal frame was very comfortable to hold and smoothly from the rear panel of the black hacker hacker variant that I have with me, feels very luxurious. There is a soft sheen for it when the light hit him, and it seems not pulling fingerprints at all. Oneplus 9RT is also available in silver nano settlement.
This phone has a camera module redesigned with one camera sensor less than 9R, but all the functional is still there, so it’s not a real loss. We will get to those details. The screen on OnePlus 9RT is slightly larger than 9R at 6.62 inches, but still an AMOLED panel with full-HD resolution +, 120Hz refresh speed, and corning Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch protection.
The screen is clear and punchy color. There is a fingerprint sensor in a very fast screen on authentication. You get a collection of buttons and the usual port on OnePlus 9RT, including the warning slider on the right. At the bottom, you will find a nano-SIM double tray but once again, there is no microSD card slot.
Apart from the new rear panel design, Oneplus 9RT gets SOCCOMM Snapdragon 888 SOC, which is an upgrade from the Snapdragon 870 SOC found in 9R. This places 9RT equivalent to Oneplus 9 and 9 pro more expensive in terms of processing power. 9RT also supports more 5G bands in India (a total of eight) than other 9-series models, which are good. There will be two mobile variants sold, one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the other with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. OnePlus has used LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Oneplus 9RT starts from Rs. 42,999 for the 8GB variant and the price rose to the hospital. 46,999 for 12GB variants. This is a lump that can be accepted oneplus 9R considering what 9RT has to offer. OnePlus 9R will continue to be sold until stocks are exhausted, but 9RT pretty much made OnePlus 9 obsolete. You also need to remember that the launch of the Oneplus 10 series India should not be too far, if a recent leakage is something to pass. From the looks, OnePlus may be staggered 10-series, with the first models coming pro and vanilla OnePlus 10 or even 10R come later, which would also explain why 9RT launched today.
