An interesting new leak today gives us treasure information about the Oneplus plan and overall strategy. For recap, the company’s new market segmentation works like this: the numbered series is a superior line, the R brand model is targeted in the regional market, Nord and Nord CE devices are medium, and nord n calls are targeting entries.
Speaking of Model R, Oneplus 9RT has just been launched in India as a replacement of various kinds of up to 9r, but it seems that there will be 10R too late this year. Not only that, but the global market seems to get Vanilla Oneplus 10 next to the 10 Pro which has been launched for China.
While pro 10 and 10 (to be announced globally in April, allegedly) supported by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Oneplus 10R will go with the dimensity of MediaTek 9000 instead.
After a long time attached to Qualcomm chipset, Oneplus first went to the MediaTek route with Nord 2, and now that the Taiwanese chip maker has the right SOC flagship, ready to match that into the superior series, even if 10R will do it only limited to several regions.
According to this rumor, the reason OnePlus does not run with the dimensity of 9000 in 10 or 10 pro regarding the love of North America over the 5G mmwave and the lack of support for MediaTek chips for it. Oneplus 10R headed to China and India with an AMOLED 120 Hz screen, and “at least” 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Oneplus 10R must be in a shop in the market at the end of Q2 (read: June). Delays are related to companies that want to give 9rt rooms to breathe. This cellphone was originally planned to be launched in India in October, but the problem with Oxygenos 12 pushed it to this month.
