It’s been a few busy weeks for editors of our reviews when they test new devices from Apple, Sony, Amazon, and others. Apple released a fully redesigned IMAC M1, which was tested by Devindra Hardawars throughout his house, and the Ipad Pro powered M1, which left Chris Velazco hoping for several software announcements in the WWDC next month. Billy Steele tested the enhanced Echo Amazon bud, which now has an active noise cancellation and optional wireless charging, and the SONY SRS-RA5000 speaker, which utilizes 360 company audio platforms. Simultaneously, other staff test the latest Samsung laptops, Fujifilm medium format camera and the latest edition mass effect.
Apple IMAC M1 is basically a portable desktop
After menoting the new IMAC M1 around his house to write, edit, drain videos and music, play games and find recipes, Devindra Hardawars is reminded of how useful the All-in-One family desktop. It helps colorful machines weigh less than 10 pounds, which impresses 11.5 millimeters thin and can be used with vesa installation, making it very portable. Also, despite the love of others for magical mice and keyboards, Devindra still found them rather uncomfortable to use all the time.
IPad Pro M1 is the strongest iPad ever
After a week of testing, Chris Velazco was impressed with the latest iPad Pro hardware. With the same M1 chipset with MacBook Air, Pro and New iMac, various storage options up to 1TB, support 5G and liquid Retina XDR display, 12.9-inch tablets are able to handle whatever they do. It ran without hiccups even when playing intense games such as Grid Autosport, editing 4K videos and watching movies with a striking visual effect. In fact, Chris said the machine was very capable, someone almost had to be a creative professional to be able to use it.
However, all the technologies produced a heavier iPad than the previous model, making it less comfortable to hold for a long time. Chris also felt that switching from a traditional front camera to a 12 megapixel ultra-wide sensor made for some awkward facetime calls – even though the new Tablet Centerstage feature did keep his face away when calling. The biggest problem he has is with software, which does not use the incredible hardware of iPad Pro – at least, yet. With the Apple Developer Conference throughout the world it will still come, there may be several software announcements that will exhibit what the iPad Pro can actually do.
SRS-RA5000 speakers show off Sony’s audio reality platform
Sony spent two years teasing the reality audio platform before releasing any hardware. SRS-RA5000 and SRS-RA3000 are the first speakers to display the immersive audio format. And even though they were designed specifically for the RA platform, Billy Steele said $ 700 RA5000 was also a good all-around choice. As high as 10 pounds and 13 inches, bigger than most rack speakers and have a simple silhouette with dark gray speakers and copper rings which according to Billy distinguish them from the device. RA5000 can be used as part of a multi-room audio setting, so it will work with TV, but not like other speakers, there is no onboard sound control so you need an additional device for that feature.
Internal RA5000 includes seven drivers – three up-firing, three sides of the shooting and middle woofer – all positioned to turn on the sound in various directions. Reality 360 audio is designed to sound like a music element around you; While Billy said the sound quality was consistent and beams in all directions, he was not sure that it was quite a sensation of “archiving rooms” advertised by Sony. Even so, he still liked a fresh, warm voice, the speaker produced. He also likes the immersive audio experience algorithm that makes the non-360RA track sound fuller. However, the limited number of 360RA content is weakness, such as high price labels.
Galaxy Samsung Pro 360 is very thin and light
After testing a 15-inch convertible variant of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360, Cherynn Low considered a capable machine. With the Super AMOLED touch panel, FHD, a decent port array, an Intel Core i7 11-Gen and 16GB RAM processor, the Pro 360 book has never stammered during the test. And at 3.06 pounds and 0.46 inches, getting thinner and lighter than competing devices while still offering the keyboard and spacious mammoth trackpad. Samsung also includes a pen with a laptop, which some people will be useful for use with touch screens.
Although Cherlynn appreciates some design changes, such as moving the power button to the top right of the keyboard and including fingerprint sensors for Windows Hello, he is disappointed with the webcam 720p. Low resolution paired with automatic filters produce dark images and somewhat distorted. Amazon’s second echo buds are enhanced in almost every way

Applications for Earbuds also offer several adjustment options including the EQ manual slider, Alexa and Hands-Free PowerSave to extend battery life. Billy also found a battery life reaching a five-hour mark with reliably, just like the previous model. One of the few things he wants to see is more protection – this bud remains IPX4 splash.
