Google has never been related to privacy in positive light but has indeed made a step in increasing the image. Maybe partly because the company’s supervision and law sanctions have been slapped for years and also partly because Apple’s popularity enjoys the privacy practice. This, however, maybe something new for Google as a document that is not dreded up in Arizona’s lawsuit shows the extent to which Google that long passes makes it more difficult for users to keep their location private.
It’s no secret, just like Facebook, Google results in advantage of knowing things about people. And just like Facebook, it also suffers from the consequences of its coverage which includes. What is still a secret, however, are some strategies used to get that data, even when users have said “no”.
Arizona sued Google last year for the practice of data collection and how it continued to collect location data from an Android phone even when the user disabled data sharing it. The documents presented as evidence were ordered to not be written last week at the command of the trade group that insisted that the information was in the public interest. Not surprisingly, it is indeed the case and reveals how Google is suspected of deceiving not only users but other Android phone makers also to prevent them from making privacy settings easier to find and understand them.
According to the testimony of Google’s own employees and even executives, companies can collect location data even when users choose it by using Wi-Fi locations and even data from third-party applications that have no relationship with Google. Google is reported to also make users more difficult to find and use privacy settings and convince OEMs like LG to follow it. Both Google and LG comment on Business Insider reports.
These days, Google is the opposite, at least in the public eye. Android 12 is set to make it much easier to find the settings and control it and to see which application uses which capabilities, may include Google’s own applications and services. Of course, direction changes might also be partially motivated by profit because, as an employee said, the alleged Google ignores and disrespect for privacy is how Apple lunches.
