Often, the skills and dedication of single software developers are finally noticed by several large companies who then swooped the developer said, making their offer barely refuse. However, as often as possible it also means that the developer no longer has the time or opportunity to do things that make them fame. However, sometimes, things become more complicated because of the potential conflict of interest, a situation that might face the Android rooting community now that Magisk developers are now working for Google.
Rooting Android, called jailbreaking on the iPhone, is always a gray area. At a technical level, there should be no limit to get Superus rights or root rights considering the Android Linux roots. That said, because the nature of a rather complicated cellular device, Android chose to system where it gained such access to exploiting bugs in the operating system.
That is what rooting is done, even with a newer magazine utility. So both of them were surprising and reasonable that his developer John Wu attracted Google’s attention and he had now announced that he would join the company’s Android platform security team. In other words, he will work with the project people who have tried to thwart, not because of hatred, of course.
The conflict did not disappear on netizens, of course, and they wondered what would happen to the magazine that moved forward. Wu initially said he still had the flexibility to work on his existing projects but Tweet said that seemed to disappear.
That said, the magazine is open source so it is possible for anyone with sufficient knowledge, skills, and patience to take it or force it in the worst scenario. Hopefully it will not happen but given how Android security works, it is also possible for the benefit of the majority of Android users if someone is like talented when Wu works to strengthen it with less innocent intentions.
