While the iPhone 14 lineup is expected to be launched this year, Apple has worked on the next model that will be released in the future. Reports about the iPhone 15 have been spinning on the internet for some time now. According to the latest information, only one iPhone on the iPhone 15 lineup will feature a periscopic lens to improve its optical zoom capabilities.
iPhone 15 Pro Max to display periscopic lens
MNG-CHHI KUO has published a detailed blog about the medium, shows that only the recognized iPhone 15 Pro Max will display periscopic cameras in 2023. Furthermore, analysts also mention that the two pro models in the iPhone 16 ranks, including the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will also display a periscopic camera.
Kuo also highlighted that the specifications of the periscopic lens for iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 must be the same, including a 12MP 1/3 inch sensor with f/2.8 aperture, sensor-shift support, and 5-6x optical zoom. In addition, Kuo mentioned companies related to making periscopic lenses on the upcoming iPhone, including Lante Optics, Largan, Jahwa, Coell, and LG Innotek.
It is important to mention here that Kuo has also predicted in the past that the iPhone launched in 2023 will come with a periscopic lens. Previously, Jeff PU analyst suggested that the two pro models in the
iPhone 15 lineup will feature periscopic lenses with up to 5x optical zoom. Analysts also mention that Apple has received a lens prototype that might be displayed in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max model. Although the new report by KUO is partially in accordance with this, the two analysts suggest that the Lante Optics will be the main supplier of the periscopic camera module.
