Opera is actually one of the oldest names in the web browser market, long before Chrome even born. However, lately has been pushed between the sidelines but still managed to get loyal to several niche services and markets. One example is Opera GX, a browser specifically designed for gamers, which now gets the version for Android and iOS. Strangely but it’s not surprising, Opera GX Mobile just gets a gaming desktop gaming look but not a feature that really makes it important.
You might be wondering what the browser game means because almost all modern web browsers can play the game browser. And no, it has nothing to do with streaming game services via the web. Opera GX, instead, offers a customized style to fit gamer aesthetics and shortcuts for games news, also has control to change browser performance that supports games that might run.
At least it should be a decisive feature of Opera GX on the desktop platform. There, it has a GX control panel that allows users to monitor the use of CPU and RAM and the use of resources at Opera GX to prevent it from damaging the system to fall and cause the frame ratio to fall. It also has integration with social gaming and platform services such as Twitch, making it some kind of one-stop-shop for PC gamers.
Opera GX Mobile, on the contrary, most only have themed skills from the desktop so that gamers can make their Android or iOS browser match the appearance of their gaming PC. It also has a GX angle as a hub for news and information games. Given the way the cellular application works, especially on iOS, it might not be surprising that Opera GX Mobile does not have insight and control as much as its own performance, at least for now.
However, it has several opera staples such as one hand navigation UI and a new flow synchronization system. That said, it still might be a difficult selling for Opera Gx Mobile unless they are far into the Opera ecosystem. However, those who want to be able to try the beta version on Android and iOS, even though the latter must go through testflight to access it.
