The Redmi K60 series launch timeline has been tipped on Weibo by noted leakster DigitalChatStation. According to him, the phones will debut in China later this month and might include three models, probably the Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro and Redmi K60E model. The tipster says the phones will be ‘King of Performance’, meaning we might see a top-end MediaTek or Qualcomm chipset. However, the latest revelation from DigitalChatStation contradicts a recent leak that said the phones would debut in January.
Redmi K60 series is expected to debut globally, including India as well but would be rebranded as POCO models. Recent rumours have revealed quite a bit about the phones, including the display size, chipset details and much more.
Redmi K60 series specifications (expected)
“Socrates”, “Mondrian”, and “Rembrandt” are tipped to be the codenames of the vanilla K60, the K60 Pro, and the K60E devices. The Redmi K60 was tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC, while the Pro version is said to arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC. However, this doesn’t seem logical considering the Pro version is tipped to arrive with a slightly less powerful chipset than the vanilla model.
The Redmi K60E is tipped to be powered by the MediaTek chipset but the exact SoC details are unknown at the moment. We can speculate it could be the Dimensity 8200 SoC. The Redmi K60 is expected to pack a 6.67-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will have a 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast-wired charging and for the first time, there will be 30W wireless charging support.
As for the cameras, the Redmi K60 will feature a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. There will be a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. Meanwhile, the Redmi K60 Pro is said to get a 2K 120Hz display, 67W wired fast charging with wireless charging capabilities. If the Redmi K60 series is indeed launching in China by the end of this month, we might start hearing more in a day or two.
