Ford has launched the F-150 Lightning Pro, the utilitarian version of the F-150 Lightning Electric Pickup intended for commercial customers. Offered in the regular and extended-range versions, pro models come with more basic vinyl chairs, easier to clean and without some more luxurious interior options. However, they still offer more desirable commercial features such as high-end chargers and package crane.
The pro version is mostly the same as the consumer model, but has prices and options designed to appeal to commercial operators and fleets. The basic model of $ 39,974 (before incentives) is available for retail operators and fleets and offers 426 horsepower and 755 pounds of torque, with 230 mil estimated EPA range. It comes with a 32-amp charger and can attract up to 5,000 pounds in a standard trim.
Extended-range model, $ 49,974 is more attractive. It offers the same EPA 300 mile range as the platinum consumer model $ 90,474, but actually the price is less than $ 52,974, 230 miles range in the XLT retail version. It provides up to 563 – horsepower with 775 pound torque and becomes standard with the Ford 80-amp pro fee station and onboard double chargers. Optional trailer package allows maximum towing up to 10,000 pounds. The catch is that it is only available for commercial customers “regardless of the size of the fleet,” Ford said.
Other features match what you can find in regular F-150 lightning. They include “Mega Power Frunk” for filling and storage, which should be useful for commercial buyers who want to hide and lock their tools. It is also equipped with a four-door supercrew taxi with a 5.5-foot bed, always on a 4×4 double motor system and the Sync4 infotainment system with a color LCD touch screen and a 12-inch productivity screen. Finally, the buyer will get the Ford CO-PILOT360 2.0 assist feature and, yes, full-sized spare tires.
The extended-range version can be a hit with a fleet customer considering the popularity of Lightning F-150. Ford noted that the F-150 Lightning Pro buyer will get access to the Ford Digital Fleet Planning Tool that takes into account the rental costs, tax incentives, personal use of workers and more. It also comes the standard with a 4G LTE modem that (when it’s not locked) can help the manager monitor the consumption of kilowatt hours, charging speed, distance to empty and more. You can now register for F-150 Lightning Pro or learn it on the Ford’s Flep site.
