Hyundai officially revealed as-spec IONIQ 5, and the things that formed were very good for handsome electric crossovers. It was announced back in February, IoniQ 5 will be among the first of the car maker car to use the new E-GMP platform, with TipBits such as filling back, windshield, and agreement where the new owner gets two years of general charging.
It has seen Hyundai work with America Electry to provide access to the DC fast filler throughout the US. During the first two years, IONIQ 5 drivers will get a 30-minute charging session without limits at the location of Electry America.
Both the owners and Lessees will get a deal, with more than 800 stations like that at the end of this year. On the charger 350 kw, said Hyundai, you will leave 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes. In five minutes, you see about 68 miles of added reach.
The very interesting about the E-GMP platform is its support for charging 400V and 800V. As a standard, IONIQ 5 will use 800V for maximum speed and efficiency; If only a supply of 400V is available, however, it can switch to it without requiring an adapter. In level 2 chargers – as you have at home – you are looking at full charging in less than 7 hours using a standard onboard charger 10.9 kW.
Our big question, of course, how far you can hope to drive on all these electricity. There was only one battery for the US market, at 77. KWh, and Hyundai said it – in the EPA cycle – it targeted 300 miles ranging from the ring wheel of the single motorbike IONIQ 5.
The double version of the All-Wheel-Drive motorbike must do 269 miles in a SE and cell configuration, Hyundai expects, while the AWD’s limited flagship trim has a targeted range of 244 miles. Apart from the configuration, the highest speed is limited to 115 mph, while the towing capacity is up to 1,500 pounds.
The single motorbike IONIQ 5 must provide 255 hp / 168 kw torque and 258 lb-ft. Upgrade to a double motor version, and you will get 320 hp and 446 lb-ft, and do 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
Even when you are still standing, the power of Ioniq 5 can still be useful. Hyundai has added V2L – or vehicle-load – support, giving power up to 1.9 kW of the 120V AC adapter that connects to the charging socket outside. The trim car is limited to getting the second outlet on the inside, under the back seat chair.
There will be six exterior colors for AS IONIQ 5: Phantom Black (Pearl), Cyber Gray (Metallic), Atlas White (Solid), Digital Teal (Green Pearl), Lucid Blue (Pearl Matte (Gray Matte)). Inside, there will be a choice of obsidian black monotonous, gray gray gray / dove gray, or dark / dove gray. The roof is a single large glass panel.
Even though the exterior might look compact – the wheels are actually 22-inches – inside Hyundai say there are more passenger volumes than in Ford Mustang Mach-E or ID Volkswagen.4. Trunk got 27.2 cu-ft, extending to 59.3 cu-ft with a folded back seat. The chairs also slid forward 5.3 inches, and can be filtered.
Likewise moving is the console of the Universal Center Island, which can shift 5.5 inches in front or rear. It has a cup holder, 15W wireless charging bearing, USB port, and can accommodate wallets and bags in it. In addition to other strange but vaguely charming, there is a magnetic board on the left of the 12-inch digital cluster screen that you can stick notes and images, like you will the refrigerator door.
