After the Fitbit Versa, the brand has arrived with its successor – they call it Versa 2. Fitbit has been making some quality and affordable smart watches. So, this time, the brand has refined the original Versa into a better Versa 2. With this watch, the brand has proved once again that they don’t need high-end features to make a quality fitness watch. You can get the best at an affordable price too.  Aimed at fitness enthusiasts, this gadget gets some extra perks. But, does this make it the best fitness tracker smart watch? Let’s check out in the Fitbit Verse 2 review below:

Design and display

Fitbit is not doing any changes in its design and it seems decent if not great. You get the same squircle design of the Apple Watch. Looking at it for the first time and the device will look similar to its predecessor. There are small tweaks done in this gadget which makes this watch a bit more stylish. It is a bit thicker than the Apple Watch 3 and the screen size is 40mm. This makes this device suitable for all wrists. There is no branding of Fitbit on the bottom bezel and the bezels are thinner than its predecessor. The Versa 2 just has a single button on the left, which acts as both the ‘select’ and the ‘back’ button.

Coming to the screen, the second-generation Fitbit Versa smart watch packs a bright AMOLED touchscreen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.  The watch can hit 1,000 nits of brightness. On the lowest brightness too, the screen sounds crisp and bright. The brand has gone with an always-on option – the one we saw in Apple Watch 5. It will suck the battery very quickly if you turn it on though. A welcoming feature if you look at the brighter side.

Interface and performance

The Versa 2 is way faster than its predecessor – thanks to a new processor sitting under the hood. That being said, the Fitbit Versa is also a smooth smart watch and doesn’t give any lags or performance issues. Switching between pages, launching apps, and bringing up new health data in the Today pane has become better.

Also, this device has a decent battery life and Fitbit claims that you can get five days with standard use. You can choose to watch faces from the Fitbit app and you can change it whenever you want. Swipe right to left to access the app launcher and use the Fitbit Today data to display the seven items of you’re choosing, which also include total steps, steps per hour, heart rate, sleep stats, and food and water intake.

You can swipe down to get a notification and can access Quick Settings, music controls, and Fitbit Pay. You can also add music files of your own to the device, with 2.5GB only reserved for local music storage. There is no GPS in the device which can be a deal breaker for many. Also, Alexa has been integrated into this gadget which is a big plus point. This means this watch is way smarter than its predecessor.

Fitness and sleep tracking

Fitbit has known its fitness trackers and Versa 2 is no different. The device is fully loaded with fitness features. They have implemented the Smart Track technology – you need to have your phone with you so that GPS can record location information and also, you won’t be able to see real-time statistics. You can select an exercise routine but very few of them produce correct statistics – swim tracking is one of them. If you go out on a run or bike ride, Versa 2 won’t give you the accurate distance – only because of the lacking built-in GPS. As long as you have your phone with you, it is all good and the accuracy of distance is nearly correct.

Sleep tracking in this device is excellent. The device is light and comfortable and it won’t irritate you while you go to sleep. This time the stats come out good and you also get a score for each night’s sleep now.You can get detail of Off Campus Jobs online from fresh hiring

Verdict

If you want to buy a fitness tracker plus smart watch and you didn’t know about Versa series, Versa 2 is a great option for you to switch. Some physical tweaks are done in the design and the new always-on display does give it a premium touch. The addition of Alexa makes it a more compelling device. Although, it is not supporting all messaging platforms, still, you get notifications for other popular texting apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. If the device has got the full Spotify support and built-in GPS, it would have made it the perfect affordable gadget. Still, if you are looking for a compelling smart watch – non Apple – this is a device to look.
